Three Programmes.
One Coherent Path.

Bicara Wira offers three structured programmes for adults at different stages of financial life. Each can be attended independently, or in sequence as a complete financial education.

Methodology

How Bicara Wira Programmes Are Structured

Each Bicara Wira programme follows a fixed curriculum delivered in small groups over a defined period. Session content is set in advance, shared with participants before each meeting, and followed by a written summary that participants keep. There are no spontaneous upsells, no referrals to financial product providers, and no sales of any kind within the programme.

The three programmes are designed to be used in sequence, though each can be attended on its own. Charting the Present is the foundation — it produces a clear picture of where a participant stands financially. Considered Investing Foundations builds the theoretical and practical framework for allocating savings. The Pre-Retirement Pathway Programme applies both within a personalised, mentor-led context.

All programmes are conducted in person at Bicara Wira's premises in George Town. Intake sizes are fixed and limited. When a cohort is full, a waiting list is maintained for the next available intake.

Programme I

Charting the Present

The first programme is concerned with a single question: what is your actual financial position right now? Not in aspirational terms, but in specific, written, reviewable terms. Many adults in their forties have assets, liabilities, insurance policies, EPF savings, and various investments — but have never assembled them into a coherent picture.

Over four weeks, Charting the Present guides participants through that assembly process. The result is a single-page written map of their financial position — one they can return to annually and update as their circumstances change.

What Is Covered

Understanding and documenting all current assets
Mapping liabilities: mortgages, loans, and outstanding obligations
EPF contribution history and projected withdrawals
Insurance coverage review — what is held and what it actually covers
Monthly cashflow analysis: income, fixed and variable expenditure
Producing the personal financial map document

Session Structure

Programme II

Considered Investing Foundations

This nine-week programme addresses the question that follows naturally from Charting the Present: what should I do with the savings and capital I have? It is a comprehensive course in investment fundamentals, constructed specifically for Malaysian adults who have money to consider deploying but limited formal financial education.

The programme covers how markets work, how to evaluate the instruments available to Malaysian investors, and how to think about risk — not as an abstract concept, but as something with a specific meaning relative to each participant's time horizon and obligations. Group size is capped at 15 participants.

Fixed income: bonds, GIICs, fixed deposits and their role

Programme III

Pre-Retirement Pathway Programme

This is Bicara Wira's most intensive offering — a five-month mentor-led programme for adults who are within ten to fifteen years of retirement and need to make considered, specific decisions about how to prepare. It is not a course in general financial education. It is a structured engagement with a dedicated mentor focused on one participant's actual retirement horizon.

Each month begins with a group session covering a key pre-retirement topic, followed by a private one-to-one meeting where the material is applied to the participant's specific situation. A midway review assesses progress and adjusts focus. The programme closes with a written retirement plan summary.

What Is Covered

EPF withdrawal planning: Account 1, Account 2, i-Akaun
Estimating retirement income needs in Malaysian ringgit terms
Healthcare cost projections and insurance gap analysis
